Please please please don't buy cranberry sauce from the store! It is so easy, and so much tastier to make it at home. It's ready in a pinch, and is sooo good on turkey, tofurkey, whatever you like.
Ingredients:
Makes ~ 1 1/2 c cranberry sauce
- 1 1/2 c whole cranberries
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- juice of 1 orange
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1/4 c water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/8 tsp ground clove
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
Directions:
- Add the cranberries, maple syrup, orange juice, and orange zest to a pot over medium heat with the water. Cover the pot and let everything simmer and soften for about 7-10 minutes.
- Once the cranberries have burst, add your spices. Add a splash more water if needed for a looser sauce. For a thicker sauce, mix 1/4 tsp cornstarch with a splash of water, and add to the pot.
- Let everything simmer for 3-4 more minutes.
The spices are non-negotiable! These make such a huge difference in the sauce, so please don't skip it! Enjoy 🫶
